Episode 01:08 Mollie Hunt, Project Manager at Moors for the Future.

In this episode, Mollie tells us all about MFTF, an amazing joint venture between the Peak District National Park (as lead Agency), the Environment Agency, Pennine Prospects, RSPB, United Utilities, Severn Trent Water and Yorkshire Water.

Formed in 2003, the organisation has restored 34 square km of degraded peat blanket bog across the Peak District and the Southern Pennines. These protected landscapes are globally significant carbon traps as well as being a host to a wide array of flaura and fauna.

The work they have been doing improves and increases biodiversity, prevents the carbon-trapping peat from being washed away, improves water quality downstream and prevents flooding as well as visually improving the landscape.

You can find out more about MFTF and their work at https://www.moorsforthefuture.org.uk/ where you can also find details of the Great North Bog project and Making Space for Water.
